Special visitors...

It means so much to us that our dear friends David and Pat Graham always make time to spend with us when they travel from Arizona to California to visit family in the San Diego area. This trip, they drove up to Costa Mesa in time for a nice visit here at home before we headed out to lunch at a favorite place of ours, the Back Bay Bistro. The weather was perfect while we watched the boats go in and out of the launch and continued catching up on each others lives. Then we drove on into Corona del Mar and shared with them our favorite little local, botanical gem, the Sherman Library Gardens.

The Birthday Girl and Birthday Boy...

Sophia turned five last Wednesday and Joshua turned two on Monday. We just love these pictures of them with David!

August is a great month for a birthday party...

With two kids' birthdays in August, Heather wisely combines the celebration. This year's theme was based on Woody from the movie "Toy Story". Among the activities that were planned for the kids was the decorating of vests made from paper shopping bags that complimented the cowboy hats and bandanas she supplied for each. They also played "Pin The Tail on BullsEye", the horse from the film. Some of the families from her Mom's Group were there, as well as old family friends like Stephanie (Heather's Maid of Honor) seen with Isaac, and of course, doting grandparents. Everything looked and tasted great and everyone had a terrific time! Sophia was truly the Belle of the Ball - next year we're sure that Joshua will be more involved in the festivities, though he certainly did seem to be loving his fresh strawberries!

Jonathan and Sophia are swimming...

It had been soooo long since we had spent any time with Heather, David and the kids! So, we headed out early this morning to watch Jonathan and Sophia taking swim lessons at a nearby high school pool. When they were finished, we had our first visit to their wonderful new house, and got to spend some more great time with them all. The picture of Joshua feeding himself some yogart does not show exactly how much of it he was wearing! Both of us made sure to get some one-on-one time with baby Isaac, who at eight months is so big and strong. We have no doubt that he will be walking VERY soon!
