...when the daffodils start to bloom! These are planted in a pot on our balcony, which also has freesia in it. The freesia are late blooming this year, but we should have tiny little bouquets of those fragrant gems in the house soon!

"Flat Connor" has come to visit...
Earlier in the week, we received a request from my great-nephew, Connor Schelb, to please take some pictures of his traveling alter-ego, "Flat Connor" in locations around our area. These pictures will be mailed back to Connor's third grade class in a couple of weeks for them to use in a wonderful geography/social studies project. We took "Flat Connor" on a trip to the beach today, and then stopped in Fairview Park on the way home where "he" got to see a blimp flying over and the local mountains in the distance. We plan on taking him a few more places before we send him back! (Since he came folded up in an envelope, we temporarily added a dowel to make picture taking easier!)
We weren't familiar with the Flat Stanley book this is based on until we got Flat Connor in the mail a couple of days ago. But, as soon as we started carrying "him" around, it was amazing to find out how many people DO know about Flat Stanley and had already done similar picture taking for a child/grandchild's project. Great fun!
