We took advantage of particularly balmy weather this evening to check out a local holiday tradition. Fashion Island is an open air shopping mall in Newport Beach, known this time of year for displaying one of the largest Christmas trees in the nation. This tree is 115 feet tall, weighs approximately 20,000 pounds and is decorated with 23,000 lights, ornaments and bows. It was harvested in Mount Shasta, California, and will be recycled after the holidays.
