Just a little less than halfway home we stopped in the beach community of Summerland, just south of Santa Barbara for lunch. With temps well into the nineties any place inland, we knew our "rest break" had to be as near the water as possible. We'd checked our on-line source for dog friendly patios the night before and decided on the Summerland Beach Cafe. That cute little schnauzer up in the window barked hello to our girls as we were getting into the car for the last leg of our return trip.
We arrived in Costa Mesa in the middle of the afternoon, nicely missing the LA traffic on our way back. In five days, we traveled 710 miles.
