Riverbench Winery...

What drew us about twenty miles back to the south and into the Santa Maria wine country was learning during some pre-trip research that there was a dog-friendly winery there.
Ironically, while eating breakfast that morning, we were leafing through a local newspaper and saw a huge feature on the winery and its manager. It was she and her English Bulldog, Roy, who opened up Riverbench's tasting room to canine friends.
The tasting room is in a beautifully maintained Craftsman style house. Sadly, we didn't take any pictures inside, because the interior is as authentically restored as the exterior. Sassy and Nica seemed to enjoy their visit, and we came home with three bottles of wine to be enjoyed with friends, probably during the holidays.
