We've added this short video clip taken in the courtyard at the San Fernando mission so that you can hear the sound of the mission's bells. (The voice in the background is the priest performing a wedding.)
When we arrived at the gates of the San Fernando mission we were told by the security guard that we would be unable to enter the chapel until a wedding taking place at that time was finished. (It was one of four being held there that day.)
This mission is particularly well known for the "Bob Hope Memorial Garden", an area that is, unfortunately for us, accessed through the chapel. We waited for a short time, thinking we'd be able to sneak through between weddings, but things were running behind schedule; another wedding party was literally waiting in the wings for their turn. Perhaps we'll return another time to complete our tour there.
