The joys of condo living...

Back in November our Association pool
area was locked up - unusable because of a new law (The Virgina Graeme Safety Act) requiring a child safe anti-entrapment replacement drain be installed in both the pool and jacuzzi. As weeks and weeks passed without the work being done, we, the community members, were told that there were only a limited number of companies available to do the installation and we were far down the list...

Eventually, the Association Board of Directors decided that it was also time to resurface the pool and jacuzzi, as well as to replace the ornamental tiles and coping around the pool edge. More waiting, getting estimates from pool companies that do the work and then choosing one.

Last week we were notified that a company had been selected to do all the work which would begin this week, and be completed, hopefully, by the first part of June. At 7:20 a.m. this morning a very, very large truck pulled in with a generator in tow behind it. Soon after, work began removing coping around the pool and jacuzzi, while others workman began sanding the pool walls. It's NOT quiet around here this morning! (And probably won't be for a few weeks.) But, there are a whole lot of people anxious for the work to be completed, the pool and jacuzzi to be refilled, and for summer to really begin in our 23 unit complex. Wish us all luck, okay??? It may be a really loud, dusty few weeks around our little piece of paradise!
