Da train, da train...

We are surrounded by cool parks, and one of the coolest is Fairview Park, less than a half mile away Fairview is huge, divided in the middle by a major street; there is a great expansion foot bridge that connects the two parts. A miniature train club has built over three miles of tracks on one portion of the park and gives free train rides the third weekend of each month. ("Goathill Jct." is a reference to the early settlement of Goat Hill which eventually became Costa Mesa.) We've been talking about getting our grandkids on that train for a very l-o-n-g time and finally made it happen. Expecting mommies and kids that don't walk yet aren't allowed to ride, so Heather and Joshua and Robin watched as the rest of us "steamed" around the park. We discovered after boarding that we couldn't shoot pictures while the train was in motion, but Heather was taking pictures as we pulled back into the station. We'll post those when we receive them.
