The return of the morning doves to the area surrounding our patio is an annual spring event. (We've actually seen two pair already this year.) They are beautiful to look at and it's lovely to hear them cooing.
At first, they are a little timid; most times we see them they are feeding on the ground below our bird-feeders. Then, they get a little bolder, flying inside our patio wall for just a brief second and away again.
Then... they get down-right brazen, languishing in the wood mulch under the hibiscus, and resting on the edge of the fountain.
They drive Sassy crazy when they do that! That's her patio! Let the barking begin!
